Information:

"The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS will provide all Australians with a permanent and significant disability, aged under 65, with the reasonable and necessary supports they need to live an ordinary life.

Eligible people, known as participants, are given a plan of supports which is developed and tailored to their individual needs.

A plan could include informal supports that a person receives through family, friends, mainstream or other community services. If required, the NDIS will also fund reasonable and necessary supports that help participants achieve their goals.

Not all people with disability will become NDIS participants. Only those who meet the access criteria will become a participant and receive an individualised plan. However, the NDIS can provide people with disability, their families and carers support through information, linkages and capacity building by connecting people to the mainstream community." - www.ndis.gov.au

Families and Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) funding:

"The Better Start for Children with Disability (Better Start) aims to assist eligible children with developmental disabilities to access funding for early intervention services. As part of the Better Start Initiative, FaHCSIA will provide funds to services providers to assist eligible children and their families or carers. Payments for the services provided to you and/or your child will be made to the service provider on your behalf when they submit a claim for payment (pending the balance of available funding for your child). Therefore, information about you and your child is collected from you by the service providers for the purposes of assisting and providing you with services under the Better Start program. FaHCSIA funds providers to assist people with a disability. Some of the information collected will assist FaHCSIA to plan and deliver services for people with disabilities." - Australian Government Department of FaHCSIA

At Time to Shine Therapy:

We are registered to provide support services under both the NDIS and FAHCSIA funding schemes. We are registered under the Therapeutic Supports category only for children and adolescents that are participants of the NDIS. We will assess your plan and look to make a service agreement with you and your child in order to provide assistance to help move toward their goals and your goals as a family. Please contact the clinic to discuss the specifics of your plan with our reception team. Please be sure to bring all supporting documentation to your first session so that we can take a copy and sign our consent agreements with you.
